Oriental Coast
Oriental Coast is a fabulous new resort on Egypt's spectacular Red Sea coast at Marsa Alam.
The first phase of the Oriental Coast incolves the impresive development of Las Cabanas where you can purchase beach-front villas and apartments located right on the shores of the amazing Red Sea.
Oriental Coast is designed to be a self-sufficient holiday and residential resort with ten 4 and 5-star hotels, supermarkets and shopping malls, 5 beach-front residential areas incorporating 4000 units, a private marina and an 18-hole golf course.
Positioned in one of the world’s finest diving and snorkelling locations, the Oriental Coast Resort has a total area of over 5 million m2 with a sandy, unspoilt beach coast line of 7.5km.
Oriental Coast Location
The location of the Oriental Coast Resort has been specifically chosen to ensure it is situated in the most scenic part of the coast, with a picturesque bay and wonderful reefs and marine life.
The developers used helicopters to investigate hundreds of kilometers of coast around Marsa Alam to be able to pick the best location, taking experienced divers with them to advise on the best locations.
Oriental Coast is positioned a 1hr 45 mins drive south of Hurghada and a 50 minute drive north of Marsa Alam town. The Oriental Coast will be a town in its own right when completed and will benefit from the proximity to Hurghada and Marsa Alam - which both have international airports.
The oriental Coast is positioned just 200 km from Luxor with all its antiquities and historical treasures including the Karnak Temple and the Valley of the Kings.
Located a 20 minute drive south of the town of Al Quasir, the Oriental Coast is 20 mins north of the international airport at Marsa Alam and the new development of Port Ghalib. The town of Marsa Alam is a further 30 mins drive south of Marsa Alam International Airport.
Oriental Coast Features
The Oriental Coast is being designed by WATG, one of the world's most distinctive architectural practices.
The design of the Oriental Coast will retain a distinctly Egyptian and Oriental theme with water features and colourful planting, with traditional building designs incorporating domes and internal courtyards.
Oriental Coast will complement the surrounding landscape and contours, with the 600-berth marina, for example, fitting perfectly with the natural inlets on this chosen 7.5 km stretch of Red Sea coastline.
There will be ten 4-star and 5-star hotels, a 600-berth marina and an 18-hole signature golf course.
The Oriental Coast will have a lively downtown area, which will be the cultural heart of the resort and will have plentiful bars, shops and restaurants.
Oriental Coast will also feature a fairground amusement area, sports facilities, conference centre and public buildings such as places of worship, school and hospital facilities.
Oriental Coast Prices
Only properties in Phase 1 of the Oriental Coast have been released for sale so far. Phase 1 is called Las cabanas and includes the cabana Hotel and a range of 2 and 3-bed villas, and 1-bed, 2-bed and 3-bed apartments.
Villas at Las Cabanas are on sale from GBP143,991 with apartments starting at just GBP31,168.

The estimated completion of the whole Oriental Coast project will be 2017. The first phase, which is called Las Cabanas and includes a hotel, villas and apartments will be completed over the next 24 months.
The Cabana Hotel is due to have its soft opening in June 2008, and will have its offical opening in November 2008. Sunrise Hotels Group, a well-established tour operator in Europe and the Middle East will be responsible for the marketing and operation of all the hotels at Oriental Coast, including the Cabana Hotel at Las Cabanas.
